Gary is Married to his bride of 36 years, Nancy and together they have four children. He is a graduate of Texas A&M University, class of 90; a native Texan; retired Marine Corps Veteran; and a Licensed professional Counselor-Associate under supervision. Gary lost his second daughter Kaylee to suicide in April of 2019 and began a new life journey and ministry. Gary decided to become a counselor after working for over 30+ years in the aviation industry as a military and civilian helicopter pilot. Currently flying as a civilian, corporate, helicopter pilot; Gary received his Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Colorado Christian University and serves as a Licensed Professional Counselor, Associate under the supervision of Doctor Marianne DuMond, LPC-S.
During internship, primarily working with veterans and first responders, Gary realized his passion for working with the heroes in this great nation who serve others and protect our freedoms. Gary has a special place in his heart for our military veterans, first responders and mental health/medical professionals. Gary considers it an honor to serve the men and women who put their lives on the line and give so much of themselves to all of us.
Gary is also extremely passionate and focused on suicide prevention and postvention in the local community and enjoys speaking about these topics to anyone who will listen. Gary currently serves on the board of Touched by Suicide (a local DFW non-profit in the postvention arena), leads a suicide loss survivor support group in Southlake, and volunteers as a mental health professional and loss survivor with the Denton County LOSS (Local Outreach to Suicide Survivors) Team.
